ADA Detectable Warning Color/Contrast Bulletin:


Colors used with Truncated Dome Stamping System (02.08.08)

In referencing the Draft Guidelines for Accessible Public Rights-of-Way, published in the Federal Register on Monday, June 17 th , 2002 by the U.S. Access Board. The following contains information on the colors and contrasts to use in accordance  with the ADA Detectable Warning Stamped concrete truncated Dome tools. According to section 1108.1.3 Contrast of the aforementioned  article, detectable warning surfaces shall contrast visually with adjacent walking surfaces either light-on-dark, or dark-on-light.

The colors recommended for use would be any of the following:

- Dark Brown Integral Color - Dark Brown Color Hardener

- Dark Gray Integral Color - Dark Gray Color Hardener

- Brick Red Integral Color - Brick Red Color Hardener

In addition, we suggest the curb ramps be sealed with the matching Colour-Seal pigmented Sealer.
